Medway Christian Fellowship

What sort of a church are we?

The Medway Christian Fellowship is a Free Church, i.e, it is not linked or tied to any particular denomination or overseeing Christian organisation.

We are affiliated to the Federation of Independent Evangelical Churches (FIEC), a member of the Evangelical Alliance and an active partner of Churches Together in Huntingdon & Godmanchester.

Our origin lies in the efforts of local Huntingdon Church leaders to minister to the many Londoners who moved into the area of Oxmoor in the 1960’s. As such, the prime mission of the church was, and remains so, to reach the unchurched and, to that end, our worship is informal and without strict liturgy. Music worship, which plays an important part is led by a lay member of the congregation. As we are currently in a period of interregnum preaching is shared between several appropriately gifted members of our congregation interspersed with visiting speakers from other churches.

The aim of all our services is to be warm and joyous whilst remaining reverent to the God we serve and worship.

Sunday morning services are held in the Huntingdon Medway Community Centre from which the fellowship derives its name.
